About
I have worked in design and illustration for 17 years, with around 5 of these years drawing botanicals. With a desire to understand plants and botany in more depth, I signed up to study horticulture with the RHS, being certified with merit. I later studied Garden Design in order to apply this new knowledge. I have also completed short courses in Garden History and Planting Design.
I am a great believer in the benefits of being in nature and engaging people with their gardens, sharing the things I've learnt so people are more informed in the plants they select, the spaces they create and how they help their gardens flourish.

I want to help you improve your outdoor space, without the huge cost of redesigning your garden.
I take the things I've learnt to help you improve your flower beds or overall garden layout supplying conceptual plans for you to complete a garden that is right for your space, soil and position. I offer two core packages. A redesign of your flower beds and a redesign of your whole layout, working with what you have to improve your outdoor area.
Planting design
Without changing your garden layout, I will redesign your flower beds, suggesting plants that are right for your soil and aspect.
I will create scaled plans, with accurate planting suggestions, with specific plants
to guide you in creating your garden.
I will discuss what you're trying to achieve, take measurements and then research and design, finalised as a PDF presenting your final design and plant names.
It is advised a soil test is done before this stage of work.

Garden Design
If you're looking to improve your whole garden layout, I will draw up conceptual ideas, from where to position planted areas, walkways, key plants, to seating, sheds and dining areas.
I supply a PDF at the end of this stage with a scaled drawing of the space, with images of suggested furniture and key plants. This document can then be used to guide or brief your garden changes.

Planting design for your flower beds is additional, with a price agreed before completion. Site visit is dependent on location.
Planting & Gardening
Once your flower beds have been planned and agreed, I can come onsite to improve your soil and plant. I also maintain the chosen area, if required.
Price: £35 per hour (local to N10)
Cost of plants is not included. This can be arranged on request.
Consultation outside of these packages is charged at £45 per hour.
